Tax Settings
Manage your EIN (Employer Identification Number) for donor tax statements.
Tax Settings
The Tax Settings page allows you to manage your church's tax identification information. This is primarily used when generating donor tax statements and compliance documents.
Employer Identification Number (EIN)
Your EIN (Employer Identification Number, also called a Federal Tax ID) is a unique nine-digit identifier assigned by the IRS to your church. When configured, your EIN is displayed on donor tax statements and official church documents.
Entering Your EIN
To add or update your EIN:
- Navigate to the Tax Settings page
- Click the input field and enter your EIN
- The EIN format is XX-XXXXXXX (for example, 12-3456789)
- Click Save to securely store your EIN
Updating Your EIN
If you already have an EIN saved, you can update it by clicking the Update button next to your masked EIN. Enter the new EIN and click Save.
Removing Your EIN
To remove your EIN from the system, click the Remove button. This will clear the stored EIN value. You can add it back at any time.
EIN Security
Your EIN is encrypted and stored securely in the system. Only the last few digits are displayed when viewing your saved EIN (the rest is masked for security). The full EIN is used internally for generating tax statements and compliance documents.
Before You Start
If your church doesn't have an EIN yet, you'll need to apply for one through the IRS before you can fully utilize tax features. Visit IRS.gov to apply for an EIN online (it typically takes just minutes) or contact the IRS directly at 1-800-829-4933.
