Funds

Create and manage church funds. Allocate transactions across multiple funds and track fund balances and account assignments.

Funds

Funds are the primary way you organize and track money in your church. Create funds for different purposes and allocate transactions across them based on your organization's structure.

Predefined Fund Types

Your Finance App includes several ready-to-use fund categories:

  • General Fund — Your primary operating fund (system-managed, cannot be deleted)
  • Building Fund — Capital improvements and facility maintenance
  • Missions Fund — Missionary support and outreach programs
  • Worship Fund — Music, liturgy, and worship-related expenses
  • Youth Fund — Youth ministry programs and activities
  • Outreach Fund — Community service and evangelism initiatives
  • Custom Funds — Create additional funds for special purposes unique to your church

Fund Cards

Each fund displays a card with essential information:

Funds management page showing a list of active giving funds with fund name, total received, goal progress bar, and action buttons for editing or archiving each fund

Balance: Current total for the fund (income minus expenses).

Income vs. Expenses: Side-by-side comparison of money in versus money out during the selected period.

Account Allocation Breakdown: Visual representation of which bank accounts contribute to this fund's balance. Shows both the dollar amount and percentage allocation.

Click any fund card to view details, edit the fund name or description, or adjust its settings.

Creating and Editing Funds

Create a Fund: Click "New Fund" and provide a name and optional description. Specify the fund type (Building, Missions, etc.) or create a custom fund category.

Edit a Fund: Click the fund card's edit icon to modify the name, description, or settings. You can deactivate a fund without deleting it.

Delete a Fund: Remove custom funds by clicking the delete option. When a fund is deleted, any future transactions that would have gone to it are automatically rerouted to the General Fund. Historical transactions remain in their original fund assignment for audit purposes.

Bank Account Allocation

Assign your connected bank accounts to specific funds. This allows you to direct income from a particular account directly to a fund and track where fund balances physically reside.

Allocate: Link a bank account to a fund. You can split one account across multiple funds using percentage or fixed-amount allocation.

Unallocated Balance: Money in your bank accounts that hasn't been assigned to a fund appears in an "Unallocated" section. Use the Ledger to assign these amounts to appropriate funds.

Total Balance Summary: View your organization's total bank balance, how much is allocated to each fund, and how much remains unallocated.

Fund Hierarchy

The General Fund serves as the default fund. If transactions are added without a specific fund assignment, they default to General. Similarly, when a fund is deleted, its transactions transfer to General to maintain historical records.

All funds roll up to your organization's total financial position shown on the Dashboard.
