Setting Up a YoloBox
Send your service from any YoloBox to the platform over RTMPS, an encrypted connection.
Setting Up a YoloBox
Every YoloBox can stream to the platform over RTMPS — RTMP inside an encrypted connection, so your stream key never crosses the internet in clear text. The YoloBox Ultra and YoloBox Extreme stream up to 4K (Ultra at 30 fps, Extreme at 60); the YoloBox Pro and YoloBox Mini up to 1080p.
These steps follow YoloLiv's own guides. Keep the YoloBox's firmware up to date: RTMPS needs YoloBox 3.7.6 or later, or YoloBox Pro 1.0.9 or later (Pro 4.1.0 or later to type the address on the device itself).
Have the Connect your encoder card open in The Hub → Streaming — it appears when you start or schedule a stream.
Send over RTMPS
- Open the Platform controls and tap +, then RTMP(S).
- Add a custom destination. Choose Fill In Manually, or Send the Link to have YoloBox email you a page where you can paste the values from a computer — easier than typing them on the screen.
- Server URL: paste the Server from the Hub,
rtmps://ingest.streaming.1stflock.com:443/live. - Stream key: paste the Stream Key from the Hub.
- Save it, and go live to that destination.
On a YoloBox Mini, add the destination in YoloCast instead (Destinations → + → RTMP(s)); it then appears on the Mini's platforms.
The Stream Key changes with every stream. Each week, edit the destination and paste the new one.
Set the stream's resolution to 1080p at 30 fps with a bitrate of about 6,000 Kbps (or 4K at 30 fps, about 16,000 Kbps), and H.264, not H.265 — the platform does not take H.265.
SRT
Use RTMPS with a YoloBox. Our SRT is encrypted only, each stream on its own passphrase, and YoloBox's SRT setup takes a single server address with no passphrase field we can point you to.
If something goes wrong
- It will not connect. Check the Server URL starts with
rtmps://— notrtmp://— and includes:443, and that the whole Stream Key went in: it contains a?and a=. Then update the YoloBox's firmware.
The settings every encoder needs, and what to expect if a server fails, are in Choosing and Setting Up an Encoder. Support is available 24/7.
