Check-In Kiosk

Run full-screen event check-in from a lobby tablet with PIN or name lookup

Check-In Kiosk

The Check-In Kiosk transforms a tablet or touch-screen computer into a self-service attendance tracking system for your lobby. Attendees quickly check themselves in for events and services without staff assistance.

Setting Up the Kiosk

Hardware: Use any tablet (iPad, Android) or touchscreen monitor connected to a wall or counter in your lobby.

Launching Kiosk Mode: From the management app, navigate to Check-In Kiosk and click "Start Kiosk Mode." The app enters full-screen mode, hiding all navigation and menus. The kiosk displays only what attendees need to see.

Exit Code: Kiosk mode requires an exit code to leave—a security measure preventing accidental or unauthorized interruption. Ask your church administrator for the exit code if you need to stop the kiosk.

Using the Kiosk

Event Selection: When the kiosk starts, it displays all events scheduled for today. If only one event is happening, it's selected automatically. If multiple events are running (e.g., multiple service times), attendees tap the event they're attending.

Check-In Method: The kiosk offers two ways to check in:

  1. Name Search: Start typing a name and select from matching results. Useful for guests or those without a PIN.
  2. PIN Entry: Members enter their personal 4-digit PIN for fast, one-step check-in.

Members can set their PIN in their profile prior to coming to church, making this the quickest option.

Confirming Check-In: After entering their name or PIN, the screen displays a confirmation message (e.g., "Welcome, Sarah! You're checked in."). A success sound or visual cue indicates the check-in was recorded.

Capacity Alerts

If a room or event reaches capacity, the kiosk alerts staff with a visual and/or audio notification. The kiosk can prevent further check-ins or allow overflow (depending on your settings).

Group Check-In

Families or groups can check in together. After one person checks in, they can click "Check In Another Person" to add family members without going back to the event selection screen.

Exit Code

To stop the kiosk and return to the management app, press the designated key combination (displayed on a help card next to the kiosk) or ask a staff member to enter the exit code. This prevents accidental kiosk disruption.

Offline Mode

If internet connectivity drops, the kiosk can continue operating in offline mode (if enabled), storing check-ins locally until connection is restored. This ensures events aren't disrupted by network outages.

Kiosk Statistics

While the kiosk is running, staff can view real-time statistics on an administrator view:

  • Total checked in so far
  • Registrations vs. walk-ins
  • Capacity status
  • By-room attendance (for children's ministry)

Customization & Settings

Administrators can customize the kiosk appearance in settings:

  • Display your church logo
  • Set background colors and theme
  • Choose between name search, PIN, or both
  • Add welcome messages or announcements
  • Set exit code and offline behavior

Troubleshooting

If check-ins aren't recording, verify the kiosk is online and connected to your church network. If a person can't check in, confirm their name is in the member database and their PIN is correct (if using PIN method).

Next Steps: Set up a tablet in your lobby with the kiosk, or customize kiosk settings to match your church's branding.
