Donations & Giving

Make one-time or recurring donations securely with integrated payment processing

Donations & Giving

The Donations section allows members to support your church's mission through secure, convenient giving. Give one-time gifts or set up recurring donations to funds of your choice.

Requirements

This feature requires an active Finance subscription with your church. If the Donations section is grayed out, ask your church administrator to activate the Finance module.

You must have at least one payment method saved in your account to process donations. See the Payments page to add a credit card or bank account.

Getting Started

Making a Donation

Click "New Donation" to start. You'll specify:

  • Donation Amount: Enter the dollar amount you want to give
  • Fund Selection: Choose which fund(s) your donation supports (e.g., General Operating Fund, Building Fund, Missions, Children's Ministry)
  • Frequency: One-time gift or recurring (monthly, quarterly, or annually)

If you're giving to multiple funds, you can split your donation across them (e.g., $50 to General Operating and $30 to Missions from a $80 total).

Payment Methods

Complete your donation using a secure payment form. You can give by:

  • Credit or Debit Card: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover
  • Bank Account (ACH): Direct transfer from your checking or savings account

The payment gateway is PCI-compliant, meaning your financial information is encrypted and never shared with the church directly.

Recurring Donations

Set up automatic donations that occur on a schedule without entering your information each time. Recurring donations can be:

  • Monthly (on the same day each month)
  • Quarterly (every three months)
  • Annually (once per year)

You can update or cancel recurring donations anytime from the "Manage Donations" section. If a payment fails, you'll be notified and given the option to update your payment method.

Viewing Your Giving History

In the "My Donations" section, view all your past contributions organized by date. Each entry shows the date, amount, fund(s), and donation type (one-time or recurring).

Managing Recurring Donations

Click "Manage Donations" to see all your active recurring donations. You can:

  • Edit Amount: Change how much you give each period
  • Pause: Temporarily stop a recurring donation
  • Cancel: End a recurring donation
  • Update Payment Method: Change the card or bank account used

Tax Statement

At the end of the calendar year, download your annual tax statement showing all donations made in that year. The statement includes:

  • Total amount given
  • Date range covered
  • Breakdown by fund
  • Church's tax ID (EIN) for claiming tax deductions

The statement is available as a PDF ready to file with your taxes.

Donation Funds

Your church sets up funds for different purposes. Common funds include:

  • General Operating Fund (ongoing ministry)
  • Building & Facilities (property improvements)
  • Missions & Outreach (external ministry support)
  • Ministry-Specific Funds (Children's Ministry, Worship, etc.)

Ask your pastor which funds are available and how your gifts support your church's mission.

Giving Page (Public)

Your church may have a public giving page accessible to website visitors. This allows friends and family outside your congregation to support your church online.

Next Steps: Make your first donation by selecting a fund and payment method, or set up a recurring gift that fits your budget.
