Settings

Configure your personal preferences, profile information, and security settings in the Church Management app.

Settings

The Settings page allows you to customize your personal preferences, manage your profile information, and secure your account with two-factor authentication.

Accessing Settings

Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the app and select "Settings" to open the settings page.

Preferences Tab

In the Preferences tab, configure how the app looks and behaves for you:

Theme Selection

Choose how the app displays:

  • Light Mode: Bright interface with dark text on light backgrounds
  • Dark Mode: Dark interface with light text on dark backgrounds
  • System: Automatically match your device's theme preference (light or dark)

Your theme preference is saved automatically and persists across sessions and devices.

Timezone

Select your local timezone for displaying event times, notification schedules, and other time-sensitive information. This ensures all events and reminders display in your local time, even if you travel or the church spans multiple time zones.

Notification Preferences

Customize which notifications you receive:

  • Email Notifications: Receive event reminders, announcements, and donation receipts via email
  • SMS Notifications (if enabled): Receive urgent alerts and reminders via text message
  • In-App Notifications: See alerts and messages within the app itself

Toggle each type on or off based on your preferences. You can also set quiet hours to avoid receiving notifications during certain times of day.

Profile Tab

In the Profile tab, view and edit your personal information:

  • Full Name: Your first and last name as displayed in member directories
  • Email Address: Your primary email for account login and notifications
  • Phone Number: Your contact number (optional)
  • Address: Your street address, city, state, and zip code

Changes to your profile are reflected immediately across all churches you belong to. Your name appears in member directories, event attendee lists, and other church records.

Security Tab

In the Security tab, protect your account:

Password Management

  • Change Password: Update your account password. You'll need to enter your current password and then set a new one.
  • Password Requirements: Passwords must be at least 12 characters long and include uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Enable an extra layer of security for your account:

  1. Click "Enable Two-Factor Authentication"
  2. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator, etc.)
  3. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app to confirm setup
  4. Save backup codes in case you lose access to your authenticator app

Once enabled, you'll be prompted to enter a code from your authenticator app each time you log in from a new device.

Session Management

View all active sessions and devices where you're logged in:

  • Current Session: Marked as your current device
  • Other Sessions: Shows device type, location, and last activity
  • Sign Out: Click to log out of a specific device remotely

Signing out of a session remotely helps you secure your account if you think an old device has been compromised.

Next Steps: Set your preferred theme, enable two-factor authentication for enhanced security, and ensure your profile information is current.
